1979 PONTIAC FIREBIRD
Project TransAM 6.6
This page will follow the progress of a 1979 Pontiac Firebird
Formula which was purchased for a whopping $200. The body is in suprisingly
good shape, however it did not run at the time of purchase.
The engine is a 301 - 4 barrel (which eventually will be
swapped out for a Pontaic 400) and a TH350 Transmission.

As of 9/21/01 the car has ran a total of two times.
Parts obtained so far: Shaker Hood plus scoop, set of SnowFlake Wheels caps and lug nuts.
Completed 09/30/01: Front Rotors, calipers, wheel
bearings, brake pads replaced on both sides.......
11/04/01: New Black Dash has been installed, 400 engine out of a 1970
Pontiac Catalina purchased, Black Steering Column with Tilt and Cruise installed,
160MPH Speedometer 8000RPM Tack installed
12/03/01: 1970 400 Motor is installed and car was driven for the first
time under its own power...............
TransAm 6.6
Update 04/22/02: New Radiator support bushings were
installed. To do this the nose piece and fenders were taken off.

Springs and shocks were installed. Here are 2 photos showing the car
